Regions were drawn for fairness. States are grouped by geographic proximity and balanced as closely as possible on the number of states and total population, so every Athlete competes for a place on comparable terms wherever they live.
Every state has a home Combine.
Pathlete divides the country into six regions, numbered one through six.
In Year 1 each region hosts one Combine, and all Athletes are eligible to register in their own region.
An Athlete in Ohio registers for the Chicago Combine, and an Athlete in Georgia registers for the Orlando Combine.
Residency in a state within your region is required and verified at registration, because regional rankings determine who advances to the National Combine.
Year 2 may add age groups and additional host cities within a region as demand grows. Evaluation standards stay identical as the series scales.
What the weekend
looks like.
A Regional Combine runs across both days of the weekend. The National Combine runs across four days in July 2027. The host city is announced closer to the season.
The format never changes. What changes is the depth of the evaluation and the strength of the field.
- Check in
Height and weight measured, your profile photo taken, and your Pathlete kit issued.
- Warm up
A supervised warm up so every Athlete is properly prepared before anything is measured.
- Physical testing
Three VALD tests: 30 m sprint with top speed and a 10 m split, 5-10-5 agility, and vertical leap. Two attempts per test, best counts.
